Your account and data

Delete your Bright Binnie account

You can delete your account in the iPhone or Android app, or ask us to do it without reinstalling the app.

Request deletion without the app

Email bins@brightbinnie.com with the subject Delete my Bright Binnie account, or use our support form and ask to delete your app account and its associated data. Send the request from your account email address where possible, or tell us which email you used for the account.

We will verify that the account belongs to you before deleting it and reply with the outcome, including any records we need to retain and why. You do not need access to your Binnie. Do not send us your password, Wi-Fi details or private setup key.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Bright Binnie and log in.
  2. Open Settings → Delete my account.
  3. Read both confirmations, then confirm deletion.

Deletion cannot be undone. If you cannot sign in or no longer have the app, use the email or support-form option above.

What is deleted

We remove your app login, household and address, reminder recipients, collection schedule, reminder light-colour preferences, send history, referral code, matching support or launch-list data, and linked queued copies of support messages. Binnies are detached from the account and their online service tokens are cleared. Earlier device-release audit records lose their account and household links.

What may be retained

Paid-order records and device manufacturing records may remain where needed for fulfilment, inventory, tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims. Minimal device-release records may retain the device, request identifier and release time. Infrastructure providers retain security and service logs under their configured retention periods. We review retained data against its purpose and delete or anonymise it when there is no longer a justified need. Our privacy policy explains these retention practices and your rights.

Wi-Fi details saved inside your Binnie

Deleting an online account cannot erase data inside a physical Binnie. If you have your Binnie, use Settings → Erase saved WiFi from a Binnie before deleting your account, and wait for the device to confirm the erase. Online deletion is still available when your Binnie is unavailable. Unplug a Binnie you still have after deleting the account.

Setting it up again may require the original purchase email or Support. For a return, gift or sale, contact us for the correct ownership steps.
