Terms of sale

Draft — these terms are a placeholder awaiting review and will be finalised before launch.

About us

Bright Binnie sells a small connected device (“the Binnie”) that glows the colour of your next bin collection, together with the online service that powers it.

Orders and payment

  • The price you pay is the price shown at checkout. Payment is taken securely by Stripe; we never see your card details.
  • Orders are limited to ten Binnies per checkout.
  • Discount codes give 10% off and can be used for up to five Binnies in total across all orders. One code per checkout.

Delivery

We deliver to UK addresses. We aim to dispatch within a couple of working days of your order; delivery times then depend on the postal service.

Cancellations and returns

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason, and receive a full refund once the device is returned to us in reasonable condition. Contact us via the support form to arrange a return. Faulty devices are repaired, replaced or refunded — your statutory rights are unaffected.

The service

  • The Binnie needs a working WiFi connection and a powered USB-C socket, plus the Bright Binnie app for setup.
  • Collection schedules come from your council. We work hard to keep them accurate — including adding new councils quickly — but councils change schedules without notice, so the glow is an aid, not a guarantee. The final word on bin day is always your council’s.
  • We may update the device’s software and the service over time to keep them working well.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability to you is capped at the amount you paid for your order. We are not liable for a missed bin collection.
